Predict-Perform Procedure is a metacognitive strategy instruction technique developed by Goverover et al. in 2007. It focuses on improving self-awareness to improve executive function and task completion.
It involves having clients make a plan with goals, predict how well they will do, and pre-emptively determine what problems might occur and how to avoid these problems. Predict-Perform Procedure also promotes incorporating strategies into the task. After performing the task, the client is provided with a self-evaluation form for further analysis and critical thinking.
